South African born Hazel Frankel’s artistic ability spans a variety of mediums as well as genres. From the dramatic kaleidoscope of colour inspired by her relationship with her grandmother to her haunting depiction of the holocaust, leaves the viewer overwhelmed with emotion and questions.

In 66CE, at the beginning of the 1st Jewish – Roman war against the Roman Empire, a group of extremists called the Sicarii overcame the Roman garrisan of Masada. After the destruction of the 2nd temple, the Jewish rebels and their families fled Jerusalem and settled on the mountain top.
