JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (Documentary)
Keren Kayemet Le Yisrael – the Jewish National Fund, one of Israel's founding national institutions, was established in 1901 at the Fifth Zionist Congress in Basle and spearheaded the efforts to restore the Jewish People to its ancient homeland. Its extensive endeavour, begun soon after its inception and pursued to the present, has no parallel. The organisation, has greened a rocky, dry, desolate land, planting more than 250 million trees; introduced projects to protect the environment, ecology, as well as water conservation. The Jewish National Fund does not only do extraordinary work in Israel, but they also use their skills and experience in uplifting various communities.
Through its efforts, The Jewish National Fund has helped to develop the land, plant parks and forests. It is a symbol of the bond between man and country, as well as a vehicle for educating youngsters and involving them in these efforts in order to foster their identification.
