PESACH
The festival of Pesach – Passover, is a time when the Jews world over celebrate the liberation of their ancestors from slavery. The exodus may have been the story of just one branch of the human family, but the lessons it contains are universal. Fourteen years ago, the South African people emerged from many years of racial oppression to embark on their own glorious new era of universal new freedom.Recently the South African Jewish Board of Deputies hosted a Freedom Seder, a joyous meeting of many cultures – where we as South African – can celebrate with one another, our old age traditions of liberation and national awakening.
