To work in any post-production facility one needs to adjust to different situations like a chameleon. Our team has become adept in adapting to new projects, changing the tempo when required, while maintaining sensitivity to the content and being flexible when it comes to style.
Virgilio da Silva: Editor
Virgilio entered the Film Industry in 1982 after having graduated from Rhodes University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Speech and Drama. He has worked extensively as an Editor on Television Dramas, Feature Films and Documentaries. He has also worked as an Assistant Director. In 1998 he received the Avanti Editing Craft Award for the documentary ‘Death’ for Underdog Productions. In 2003 he worked in Los Angeles on the feature film “Blast” for Film Afrika and later in 2004 on “The curse of the ring” for DO Productions. Virgilio is a member of The South African Guild of Editors (SAGE).
Tiny Laubscher: Director and Editor
Tiny has worked in the Film and Television Industry for 32 years. In the Corporate, Marketing and Instructional Video genre, Tiny has worked as Director and Editor for clients like Sun International, SAB, Standard Bank, Simba and Dairybelle. In the Social and Wildlife Documentary genre, Tiny worked, again as Director and Editor for networks like National Geographic, Discovery Channel, BBC and SABC. He has directed and edited Television Dramas for MNET, KykNET and SABC. Tiny also edited feature films for Leon Schuster and Gray Hofmeyr.
Clarice Pichau–Whitton: Editor
Since graduating with a diploma in editing and directing from City Varsity, Clarice has been involved in the Film and TV industry for 11 years. She started her career as a sports camera person for Tellytrack, and later directed race days such as the J&B Met and other big events. She concluded her tenure with Tellytrack by producing and editing 3 live weekly magazine shows for 4 consecutive years. Clarice then took on the role as Production Co-Ordinator / assistant on short films as well as International commercials. Now she is a valuable member of Spirit Sister Productions.
Nadine Meintjes: Post Production Supervisor
Nadine has been a part of Spirit Sister Productions since 2000. During this period, Nadine has been involved in numerous aspects of the company including Office Administrator and Production Management. Her experience has put her in good stead as the Post-Production Supervisor of Tikkun Post Productions. Before joining Spirit Sister Productions, Nadine managed a team in the courier industry for 15 years.
Thandile Tshiwula: Post Production Assistant
Thandile completed an editing course at City Varsity in 2005. Since then he has worked as post-production assistant on SABC Dramas like Diver’s Down, Khululeka, Stokvel, Interrogation Room and is currently working on The Power Within, Simcha and Journeys of Inspiration.
Fransua van Dijk: Post Production Assistant
Fransua completed an editing course at City Varsity in 1998. Afterwards he travelled and worked abroad in France, UK and the Netherlands. He has worked as a cameraman and in production for Gold Circle (Kenilworth Racecourse), as well as a runner and editor for various small production companies. Currently Fransua is working on The Power Within, Simcha and Journeys of Inspiration.
